Les Petites Ecuries self-catering holiday cottages border the Canal du Midi a UNESCO World Heritage site, in the small village of Marseillette, near Carcassonne (20 minutes) which has daily Ryanair flights from across Europe. You can also fly to Toulouse, Beziers and Perpignan all an hour away.
Owners, Carol and Andrew have converted the old stable buildings into luxury self-catering holiday cottages/gites/villas. Named after the horses that once worked the vineyards, Tango, Bijou and PonPon are furnished to an extremely high level and are 3 and 4 star rated by French authorities. There are two heated salt water pools onsite, a self-service bar, boules court, large landscaped garden, BBQ’s and plenty of things to keep the children amused too.
If you’re looking to see and experience an authentic French village, explore the many villages and picturesque countryside, discover great new wines and wonderful food then come on down, you’ll love it. Or if you’re like some of our guests that just laze around the pool and garden soaking up the sun, come on over. Watch the canal boats meander along the Canal du Midi at the bottom of the garden.
In the summer the fruit trees are loaded with fresh fruit, cherries, apricots, apples, pears, plums, nuts and we have chickens that produce eggs on a daily basis. So help yourself.
Outside of Summer we charge for electric. We also charge French tourists day tax, paid in cash to us on arrival. We can recommend local restaurants, takeaways and even a visiting chief if you have 6 or more people. David will design a 4 – 8 course menu, supply wines etc and come in a cook and serve you in your gite. Very reasonable and great fun.
The photos below show some of the events and parties we have had at Les Petites Ecuries. This year 2020, we have had an 80th birthday party, have a 50th birthday planned and a summer BBQ party – if your staying with us your invited.
